UNDERSTAND THE BASICS
OF GPS GUIDANCE
 
GPS Guidance is a comfort and productivity investement. 
GPS Guidance helps farmers to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
GPS Guidance solutions employ satellite signals to accurately guide the tractor or combine, even in bad weather or dusty field conditions. Each field operation has a GPS Guidance tailored solution for the best results.
GPS Guidance is a matter of repeatability 
• The simple signal from a GPS satellite works well with car navigation systems but is not accurate enough for precision farming operations, that need precision up to 2.5 cm.
• Farming GPS Guidance is based on real time corrections of the GPS signal calculated either by a central control station, a server or a movable ground radio station, and then sent to the GPS Guidance-enabled equipment.
• GPS Guidance accuracy is calculated on pass-to-pass basis (relative accuracy measured at 15 minutes intervals) and on year-to-year basis (capacity to repeat the same rows up to a week, a month, a year later).
Three areas have to be considered when building a GPS guidance solution:
• The correction signal will determine:
- The accuracy of the GPS receiver, from 1 meter down to 2.5 cm.
- The repeatability of the path from one year to another.
- The cost of use of the solution, free or subscripton based.
• The steering system can be:
- Manual guidance.
- Assisted autoguidance.
- Integrated autoguidance.
•The display will grant the evolutivity of the system in term of future upgrades: 
- Compatible accuracy.
- Steering system.
- Implement monitoring and control.
- Compatibility with other manufacture machines.
- Advanced operations capability
 
 
CORRECTION SIGNALS

2. The ground base stations used by OmniSTAR® and EGNOS recieve the same GPS signal.
3. The ground base stations calculate the real time position error and send this message to a geostationary satellite.

XP: Suited for agriculture automatic steering systems, offers an accuracy of 12cm.
HP: The best accuracy for an OmniSTAR® solution, offers an accuracy of 10 cm.
G2: OmniSTAR®
G2 includes GLONASS satellites and GLONASS correction data in the solution.
Useful when faced with conditions that limit satellite visibility.
 
RTK corrections
Real Time Kinematic (RTK) is a highly precise technology that results in 2.5 cm year-to-year accuracy. This accuracy can be achieved with three communication technologies, depending upon customer. RTK Radio
1 Transmission uses a local ground based station which receives the same position data as the mobile unit.
2 By comparing the received position to its known actual position, the real time error can be calculated.
3 This error is then transmitted via short wave radio to the mobile unit.

RTK VRS (Virtual Reference Station)
1 The machine with the antenna recieves a GPS signal.
2 The ground base stations used by the VRS Network recieve the same GPS signal.
3 The modem sends it’s position to the VRS server via a GPRS link.
4 A position correction for the modem is then calculated and sent back to the modem via GPRS.
RTK Glonass 
Some of our receivers are able to process GLONASS satellite signals combined with RTK correction signal to ensure user a higher level of satellite coverage in any condition.

Sisteme GPS pentru ghidare

Definitie

Sistemele de ghidare sunt aparate bazate pe tehnologia de geolocalizare prin satelit (GPS). Pornind de la o linie de reper (dreapta sau curba) si de la definirea latimii de lucru a utilajului, sistemul este capabil sa genereze linii virtuale care vor fi urmate de catre sofer. Sistemele de ghidare aduc un nivel de precizie si control suplimentar, ele permitand de a cunoaste pozitia utilajului si de a-l mentine pe o traiectorie precisa si repetabila chiar si in conditii meteo dificile, noaptea, praf, panta sau soluri heterogene.

 Avantaje

  • Reducerea costurilor legate de combustibil (in medie cu 5%).
  • Reducerea costurilor legate entrants (in medie cu 5%). Entrants: pesticide, erbicide, fertilizanti, ....
  • Rapiditatea efectuarii lucrarii
  • Precizia lucrarilor efectuate.
  • O mai buna gestionare a parcelelor si resurselor.
  • Efectuarea lucrarilor atat pe timp de zi, cat si pe timp de noapte, orice conditii meteo (ploaie, ceata,....).

Definirea liniei de reper

Linia de reper se stabileste prin apasarea butonului A la inceputul primului rand si apasarea punctului B in capatul primului rand. Pe ecran va aparea lina de reper (ingrosata) si linii paralele (atat in dreapta cat in stanga) cu lina de reper. Distanta dintre linii corespunde latimii de lucru.
